Fund Raiser to Help Burn Victim
Julie Jarvis, a Farmington Public Schools bus driver and single mom, is facing a long and painful recovery from burns she received in an accident while attending a picnic. A citronella candle exploded near her face, burning her face, her hair, chest and arms.
The FPS Transportation Department is hosting a benefit spaghetti dinner to raise money for Jarvis while she's out of work.
The Spaghetti Benefit Dinner and Bake Sale will be held 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the Costick Center, 28600 11 Mile, Farmington Hills. Adult meals are $10 and children's meals are $5; kids under age five are $2. All proceeds will go to the Julie Jarvis Burn Fund, which is set up at LOC Credit Union on Farmington Road, north of Nine Mile in Farmington, where cash donations are also being accepted.
